The Metlakatla Food Fish Distribution program is now making call out to members in Prince Rupert and Metlakatla.

Metlakatla has received two (2) International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 505 Applications (Port Numbers). Due to the limited time frame, this round will be chosen through a lottery system. Applicants must be listed on the Metlakatla Band list, and must reside in Prince Rupert, Metlakatla, or Port Edward. Also, members who are attending Charles Hays Secondary School or Pacific Coast School (current high school aged members) are not eligible.
The Coast Tsimshian Enterprises (CTE) Bursary Program is administered through the Lax Kw’alaams Business Development and Metlakatla Development Corporation, which provides money for Lax Kw’alaams and Metlakatla members to continue their post-secondary studies.
Eight CTE Bursaries of $500.00 each are available to Lax Kw’alaams and Metlakatla members pursuing post secondary education. The following conditions must be met before this bursary may be granted:
1) The candidate must be a Lax Kw’alaams or Metlakatla Band member.
Metlakatla Members, Metlakatla Aquatic Resources (MAR) has the following communal commercial fishing licences available. We are requesting applications on these 2022 Communal ATP Licenses:
1. FR 15 North Coast Crab area “B”, maximum length 12.19 meters (39.9 feet), Trap limit TBD.

2. FW8 Prawn, maximum vessel length 12.45 meters (40.85 feet), 300 traps, Coastwide
