The upcoming 2026 British Columbia Provincial Election on October 24, 2026 comes at an important time for First Nations communities across the province.
The First Nations Leadership Council (FNLC) is encouraging all eligible First Nations citizens to participate in the election and ensure their voices are heard at the ballot box. Issues such as implementation of Indigenous rights, government-to-government relationships, healthcare access, cost of living, housing, and public safety remain important considerations for First Nations voters.
To support informed participation, the FNLC has provided a 2026 Provincial Election Package, which includes:
- Questions submitted to provincial political parties
- Responses received from participating parties
- General voting information for the 2026 Provincial Election
Due to the compressed timeline of this snap election, responses were received from:
- Conservative Party of BC
- BC NDP
The FNLC has advised that if additional responses are received from other parties before election day, they will be shared separately.
Community members are encouraged to review the information and, where possible, ask questions directly of candidates seeking election in their local ridings.
