The Metlakatla Development Corporation has developed an Education, Training and Employment Strategy to prepare and support members in their wellness, education, and employment readiness in order to move into job and career opportunities in and around Metlakatla and Prince Rupert.
This strategy includes the implementation of an Employment Database for Metlakatla members. So what does this mean for Metlakatla members? How will the database help Metlakatla members?
Why do we need a database?
The BC Environmental Assessment Office will be hosting an Open House for the Aurora LNG project on Digby Island on February 8th at the Moose Hall (745 1st Avenue West, Prince Rupert) from 4:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m.
The Metlakatla Stewardship Society is accepting applications from Metlakatla members to sit on the Cumulative Effect Management (CEM) Working Group.
This is a reminder to all Metlakatla members that there will be a two-day forum on January 13 and 14 at the North Coast Convention Centre to discuss the formation of a Metlakatla Culture and Heritage program. More information can be found on the poster below.

The Metlakatla First Nation would like to congratulate Denise Wilson on being chosen as an inductee into the All Native Basketball Tournament Hall of Fame in 2017. Denise is a three-time Womens Division MVP, was a part of nine championship teams, has been a Tournament All-Star numerous times and has been named Most Inspirational Player on several occasions.
