The Metlakatla Development Corporation has developed an Education, Training and
Employment Strategy to prepare and support members in their wellness, education, and
employment readiness in order to move into job and career opportunities in and around
Metlakatla and Prince Rupert.
This strategy includes the implementation of an Employment Database for Metlakatla
members. So what does this mean for Metlakatla members? How will the database help
Why do we need a database?
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Metlakatla Development Corporation ill be held at the Metlakatla Community Hall in Metlakatla, B.C. at 9:30 a.m. on November 16, 2016.
All Metlakatla Band members over the age of nineteen are invited to attend. Metlakatla Development Corporation directors and all subsidiary company employees are also invited to attend.
Items of Business:
1. To report on the business activities of the last year.
2. To receive and consider the Annual Financial Statements for the year ending March 31, 2016.
The Metlakatla Ferry Service is preparing for back-to-school and has confirmed a schedule for the first day of classes.
There will be two ferry runs on Tuesday, September 6. In the morning the ferry will leave Metlakatla at 9:15 and return from Prince Rupert at 12:15 p.m. It will then leave Metlakatla at 12:30 p.m. and return from Prince Rupert at 3:20 p.m.
Regularly scheduled school runs, which will leave Metlakatla at 7:50 a.m. and will return from Prince Rupert at 3:30 p....m.

The Metlakatla Development Corporation is looking for your input on the possibility of creating Seniors Housing and Health Care on the old King Edward site. If you are interested in seniors housing or health care, please plan to attend one of two focus groups on June 22 or the focus group on June 23. Click here for more information.
Please note the following changes to the Metlakatla Ferry Service schedule for the week of March 21 to March 29:
· The 7:30 a.m. ferry leaving Prince Rupert and the 3:45 p.m. ferry leaving Metlakatla have been cancelled for the week.
· The 4:30 p.m. ferry leaving Prince Rupert and the 4:45 p.m. ferry leaving Metlakatla on Thursday, March 24 have been cancelled. The last ferry of the day will leave Metlakatla at 12:45 p.m. on March 24.
North Co-Corp Ferry Services Ltd. will be increasing their rates as of April 1, 2016.

The management of the Metlakatla Development Corporation would like to remind everyone that, as per Section 2.4 of the contract with the Prince Rupert School District, the 7:50 a.m. ferry departing from Metlakatla and the 3:30 p.m. ferry departing from Prince Rupert are open only to “School District pupils, trustees and other individuals or groups on school-related business as authorized by the Secretary-Treasurer of the board, or designate”.
